Almost a year has passed since the beginning of my passion for product design, chairs in particular. Since then I try to find innovations apart from Charles Eames creations. Arper developed a series of chairs which can be entitled as a true classic. With a passion for elegance and completely integrated features their new collection is presented in a product focused and minimalist website.

Berlin based Flash coder Andre Michelle put together a simple sinewave grid synthesizer and named it ToneMatrix. The repeated sequences create an oscillating wave map that result in some wonderful effects together with your ‘music’.

Our international journey brings us to Tokyo this time. Johan Prag was born in Sweden. The influence of traditional Japanese art reflects in his clean and content focussed projects. As an art director he rebranded the Scandinavian Airlines System and The National Art Center Tokyo. His portfolio ranges from photography and cg to identity and unique typography.

Barton Smith released his final year honors project ‘Stream’ this month. An adaptive computer system that goes with the needs of it´s users. The Stream adaptive computer system is more portable and expandable than current systems, it offers a more natural and personal experience for the user and is more environmentally friendly in doing so. It can be an ultra-portable laptop, camera-phone, or games console. It is what the user wants it to be. It has been featured on Behance and will be presented in Australia’s Object exhibition. This project is a great new take on personal entertainment and is anticipated to be produced.

Xavier Encinas is a French art director living and working in Vancouver, Canada. He specializes in print and typography where photography meets fashion, however, his interests are broad and he enjoys working within many spectrums.

Named after that famous typeface, which celebrated it’s 50th birthday in 2007, Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. The film is an exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type.

Swedish advertising agency Milk has turned the classic white Arla milk carton black. It is a campaign for the WWF’s Earth Hour. A worldwide event encouraging people to raise environmental awareness by turning off the lights for one hour.

Nastasiya Shygaieva just finished the fourth course of the Academy of Arts and Architecture in Kiev and works as an illustrator in the leading publishing houses of Ukraine. She has been published in Ukraine, Italy and England. Her work tells the story of traditional ukrainian art.

A modern modular house, that is Thomas Lind’s idea behind MOMO. Building modular houses is not new, but the architect and his Swedish partners offer a thought through concept. The modules are built out of natural elements and are made to integrate seemlessly into their surroundings.
